I Have a Guest Post on a Really Awesome Blog That is Not About Marriage

by Kathleen Quiring on March 18, 2010

This may shock you, but I don’t only read and write about marriage.

In fact, lately I’m feeling so inundated by marriage talk that I swear if I get one more #marriagetip in my Twitter feed I am going to flip my proverbial lid.

Consequently, I am delighted to direct you to a guest post that I wrote for a non-marriage blog I love, Naturally Knocked Up.

Yes, this is a blog about pregnancy and birth so it’s kinda related. But it’s also a blog about nutrition and health. And I am wildly interested in both topics right now.

In fact, I am in love with this blog. I’m in love with the author, Donielle [in a totally healthy, blog-admiration kind of way]. I have been devouring her posts every chance I get [And "devouring" is a good metaphor because after I read them I usually go and cook something and then eat it].

So you can imagine how delighted I was when Donielle said she’d publish my guest post on her site. *Doing awkward hopping-back-and-forth dance that I do every time I get good news via email*

I have learned so much in the past couple of months about nutrition, food, and fertility  from this site that I am thrilled to introduce it to you. You don’t have to be trying to get pregnant to appreciate it — Donielle offers terrific, healthy recipes and mind-blowing information about children’s and women’s health that is conducive to all kinds of healthy bodies.

So check out my guest post about Sterilizing Life and then take a look around the site. If nothing else, print out and try this absolutely delectable (and ridiculously healthy) recipe for black bean brownies. I have made them several times myself and let me tell you, they is gewd.

But first, read my article about how we are sanitizing the life right out of our lives.

That’s so great, Kathleen!

I think one of the most frustrating things about blogging, is that we’re told by the “experts” we need to have a clearly defined purpose/theme/audience for our blogs, yet there’s not such thing as a clearly defined person! Or if there is, I would be afraid to meet him/her! So we try to create a blog that’s conducive to a concise elevator pitch, yet so much of who we are and what we care about doesn’t seem to fit.

Anyway, I’m glad you’re finding ways to share all the great parts of who you are!

Kristin – yes, I’m coming to see that more and more! While I’m definitely passionate about the topic of marriage, sometimes there are other things I want to write about that don’t fit into this category that I’ve wiggled my way into. Good to hear that someone else struggles with some of the same things!

Katherine,

Read your post, it was very well written… in fact it was so informative it scared me a little.

I have to not only take birth control, but take it consecutively because I have Endometriosis. It’s the only way I can have a pain-free life.

Although we’re not currently trying to get pregnant we want to start trying in a year or two.

I pray this has not negatively effect my fertility because I likely will be fertility challenged from the get go, hence the endometriosis.

I am just going to have to think positive until then.

Good luck with your baby-making Katherine, I am sending positive fertile thoughts your way.

Oh dear — my prayers are with you also, Shannon! Fertility is such a delicate and complex issue, is it not? Thanks for your well wishes . . . I wish you all the best when you do venture into life-creating together with your husband.
