Pet Ownership and Practice Parenting

I never intended to extrapolate parenting principles from pet ownership. But it kinda happened. Yes, I realize that raising human children is a very different thing from keeping a dog in the house, even if you love your dog as much as I love mine, but I wonder if some of the lessons I’ve gleaned from pet ownership will be useful in parenting.
